The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History and The Surry County Genealogical Assn. will sponsor a FREE Family History and Genealogy Swap Meet Saturday Jan.28, 2017 at 10:00 until 5:00 on the 3rd floor of The Museum at 301 North Main Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina, 27030, Telephone: 336.786.4478.
1-This year we are asking anyone who has ever had family that worked at our quarry, “The North Carolina Granite Corp.” which is the largest opened faced granite quarry in the world and we want them to come as our special guest that day and we hope they will bring pictures of their family and the quarry and share them.
2-Also they are asking anyone who has every been in a Beginners Genealogy Class spondered by the Museum and taught by Esther Johnson to come as a special guest that day.
3-Also anyone connected with any History or Genealogy Group is invited to come and set up for this Swap Meet and advertise your group and sale any books or maps or etc from your group and all authors are invited to come and put out your book’s to sale.
4- The big thing will be, everyone is invited and you are ask to bring your genealogy and display so everyone can make connections and find new family information.
5- There will be a copy machine so you can make copies of info. For a small fee.

Also they can show you their DNA so you can see what your’s will look like when you get it.
Be sure and bring any old Bibles you have and old letters, and old pictures, or diaries or Scrap Books also old Obituaries. Sometimes all it takes is 1 name or 1 date and it may have been something you have looked for, for years.
